Hunting Rifle Sight In Days

Before you head out to the field, make sure your optics are set up properly by coming out to the Aurora Sportsmen's Club for a rifle sight in day. The public is invited to use our 100 yard range to tune up your firearm on September 18th and October 10th, from 10am to 2pm. Targets will be available for purchase on site. A valid FOID is required for all shooters age 18 and up, minors must be accompanied by a guardian with a valid FOID. For complete details and a downloadable flyer, please click here.

NRA Approved 1800 Conventional Pistol Match

The Rifle/Pistol department of the Aurora Sportsmen's Club is pleased to announce an NRA-approved 1800 Conventional Pistol Match to be held on Saturday, September 18th. There will be 11 different matches with classes for High Master/Master, Expert/Sharpshooter and Marksman. This event is open to members and to the general public. America's Victory Shoot

We are proud to announce that the ASC is the host club for “Americas Victory Shoot” – a two-day instructional event celebrating the Supreme Court decision in the McDonald vs. City of Chicago case, essentially ending the handgun ban in the city. The event takes place October 16th and 17th at the club and includes:

- How to rapidly draw from a holster

- Grip and stance

- Elements of defensive marksmanship

- Proper and effective shot placement

- Situational awareness

- How to clear malfunctions

- Various reloads

- Proper mindset

- Lots of shooting exercises

- Exercises and techniques to dramatically improve at home without ammo!

There will also be a vendor area with many exhibitors, interactive discussions and the opportunity to win gear, products and services from participating sponsors. For those of you who have seen the show “Top Shot” on the History Channel, Bill Carns and some of the other contestants from the show will be in attendance (more on that to come). Sporting Clays Range Rules

All general range safety rules will be followed at all times!
Do not put shells in your gun until you are at your station and it is your turn to shoot.
Put no more than two shells in your gun at a time.
Do not move from station to station with a shell in your gun.
Do not move from station to station until all members of the squad have shot.
Do not point, aim, handle, load or unload guns in the clubhouse.
Keep actions open at all times when not on the firing line.
Only target loads are allowed. Approved shot sizes are 7½, 8 & 9.
Hearing and eye protection are required.
Sporting clays may only be shot during special events approved by the board of directors and under the direct supervision of the event coordinator or their designee.
