PISTOL MATCHES
Six Stage IDPA Match - August 29, 2010
The Howell Shooting Club will host a six stage IDPA match at the Aurora Sportsmen's Club on Sunday, August 29th. This match is open to anyone with the proper equipment and basic knowledge of how to draw from a holster and range safety. NRA Approved 1800 Conventional Pistol Match - September 18, 2010
The Rifle/Pistol department of the Aurora Sportsmen's Club is pleased to announce an NRA-approved 1800 Conventional Pistol Match to be held on Saturday, September 18th. There will be 11 different matches with classes for High Master/Master, Expert/Sharpshooter and Marksman.

MONTHLY CENTERFIRE & RIMFIRE CLUB PISTOL
The following rules apply to the monthly club pistol matches, both ‘A’ and ‘B’ class.
GUN: Any pistol Any caliber center-fire or rim-fire Single shot, revolver or semi-auto
SIGHTS: Any sights Metallic, any (open, peep, etc.) Electronic, any (dot, laser, etc.) Telescopic, any type
DISTANCE: 25 yards.
TARGET: ASC ‘Club’ target
STANCE: Free standing. (Cannot lean against bench, posts, etc.) One-handed or two-handed grip permitted.
COURSE OF FIRE: 5 Targets, 5 shots in each target with no time limit. Unlimited sighters on pre-marked sighter club target
SCORING: Point scoring. High score- high X 250-25X maximum.
OTHER: An average of the best six yearly matches of 235 or higher moves the shooter to the ‘A’ class the following year.
MONTHLY NRA PISTOL
The following rules apply to the monthly club ‘NRA’ pistol matches.
GUN: Any pistol in compliance with NRA Pistol Rules (sections 3.2-3.6) is allowed. Any caliber, centerfire or rimfire Revolver or semi-auto. Barrel plus cylinder <10.0 inches long Trigger pull > 2.5 lbs. (>2 lbs for .22) All standard safety features must operate properly Release triggers are not allowed
SIGHTS: Metallic, any but sighting radius must be less than 10 inches Electronic: any except those projecting an image onto the target (e.g. no laser) Telescope, any type May not activate firing mechanism
DISTANCE: 25 yards
STANCE: Free standing (Cannot lean against bench) One hand only (‘B’ class allows two handed) No artificial support. 1.No glove or band on shooting hand (including wrist watches.) 2.No garment that can be interpreted as providing artificial support may be worn.
GRIP: May not be extended or constructed in any way to give support beyond hand. Wrist must remain free and visible when gun is held in firing position. Grip may not encircle hand. Upward curvature of the heel of the grip may not exceed one inch
COURSE OF FIRE: Three times through National Match Course, each consisting of 3 target stages shot as follows: Slow fire: B-16 target, 10 shots fired in 10 minutes Timed fire: B-8 target, 2 strings of 5 shots in 20 sec. Rapid fire: B-8 target, 2 strings of 5 shots in 10 sec.
SCORING: Point Scoring, High X, 900-90X max.
OTHER: The same gun must be used for each 3 target phase of the match. Different pistols (.22, any centerfire, any .45) may be used for the separate phases of the National Match Course.
A CLASS: One handed shooting per above rules
B CLASS: Two handed shooting, otherwise conforming to above rules
