OFFHAND RIFLE MATCHES


Shooting jackets, shooting gloves, palm rests and hook buttplates are all permitted in these offhand matches. Slings are not permitted in these offhand matches.

CENTERFIRE RIFLE OFFHAND

The following rules apply to the monthly club Centerfire Offhand rifle matches, both ‘A’ and ‘B’ class.

GUN: Any Centerfire rifle
SIGHTS: Any iron sights or any scope
DISTANCE: 50 yards
TARGET: ASC ‘Club’ target.
STANCE: Free standing. Cannot lean against bench, table or posts.
COURSE OF FIRE: 5 Targets, 5 shots in each target. Targets are usually posted 2 or 3 at a time and shot within a 20 minute relay.
SCORING: Point scoring. High score – High X. 250-25X maximum
OTHER: An average of the best six yearly matches of 235 or higher moves the shooter to ‘A’ class the following year.

RIMFIRE RIFLE OFFHAND

The following rules apply to the monthly club Rimfire Offhand rifle matches, both ‘A’ and ‘B’ class.

GUN: Any rimfire rifle
SIGHTS: Any iron sights or any scope.
DISTANCE: 50 yards.
TARGET: ASC ‘Club’ target.
STANCE: Free standing. (Cannot lean against bench, posts, etc.)
COURSE OF FIRE: 5 Targets, 5 shots in each target. Targets are usually posted 2 or 3 at a time and shot within a 20 minute relay.
SCORING: Point scoring. High score – high X 250-25X maximum
